1,222 characters from 37 plays in 97 minutes with only 3 actors. Mathematically speaking, it’s going to be a fun night of Shakespearian debauchery.
Cast: Alannah St. Pierre, Richard Wiens, and Ethan Shankaruk
The performers of Alchemy Theatre will soon attempt a feat believed to be unprecedented in the history of civilization, to capture, in a single theatrical experience, the magic, genius, and male pattern baldness of that maestro of the English stage: William Shakespeare. You’ll see renditions of all your favorites, including Troilus and Cressida, Two Noble Kinsmen, and Timon of Athens. Lesser-known selections like Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth may also make an appearance. One thing’s for sure, this isn’t the boring Shakespeare you remember from English class!
An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) was London’s longest-running comedy having clocked a very palpable nine years in London’s West End at the Criterion Theatre! This play is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner-ear disorders, outer-ear disorders, people with degrees in Elizabethan history, or Shakespearean scholars.
